The outcome of the first challenge funded by the CCR Challenge Fund has gained the support of the UK National Tracheostomy Safety Project, a professional group of healthcare staff which campaigns to improve the management of tracheostomy and laryngectomy, including during critical incidents. The Tracheostomy Challenge led by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board began as a rapid response to COVID-19 pandemic conditions. Its aim was to develop immersive simulation training solutions for NHS clinicians, benefiting from advances in virtual reality and associated technologies.
